Using Search Engines to find Recent Articles
When you’re doing a roundup, you often want to stick with fairly recent posts. It can be a little hard to find, but all the search engines give you the option to search for articles based on when they’re published. Here’s the instructions for Google, Bing, and Twitter.
On Google, you need to click on Tools, which is hiding off on the right-hand side, and then Recent; you can select a timeframe, or choose the date to start from on Custom Range. How intuitive!
Bing
On Bing, once you’ve done a search, you’ll see a pulldown labeled Any time. Click on that to see your options. If you click on Best match, you’ll have the option to see most recent posts first.
On Twitter, it’s even more obscure: click on the word Show next to Search Filters on the left-hand side of the page, then Advanced Search. That takes you to a form and if you scroll down to the bottom you can enter a range of dates.
